This evolving website is dedicated to the dissemination, publication, and preservation of the documents known as the Padgett Messages. Writings claiming to be by Jesus were received by the spiritual gift of automatic writing in the early part of the 20th century, through a Washington D.C. attorney named James E. Padgett. These incredible communications deal with the subject of Jesus and his life and teachings. They shed light on many aspects of the New Testament — amplifying, augmenting, and refining the Bible.
This website will present a sampling of the more than 2,500 messages received by Esq. Padgett on such subjects as the creation of the first parents; the progress of mankind; the nature of God; God's qualities and attributes; Jesus' life and ministry; the distinction between natural love and Divine Love; incarnation of the human soul; the nature of the spirit world, spiritual progression and communication; the way to the Kingdom of Heaven; and the secret of immortality.
The content of these messages signed by Jesus and the Celestial Spirits is profoundly new and revolutionary, yet so compelling in logic and simplicity, that a serious study of them must be undertaken to comprehend their significance. Truly a new reformation in Christian thinking, these revealing writings have been transcribed and printed only within the past 60 years by the Foundation Church of the New Birth, Inc. and are now being made widely available.
The title of this site comes from one of the essays entitled "Is There A Second New Testament?" In this essay, these messages are introduced and critically examined, along with the issue of the authenticity of these messages, in relation to the authenticity of the New Testament writings. The essay presents virtually overwhelming evidence that pseudonymity, anonymity, and editorial additions run rampant in the New Testament, and the question of what determined the truth and authority of these ancient written documents is examined. The question of whether or not there are any circumstances under which writings should be added to or taken away from the canon is discussed, and it is strongly suggested that the messages from Jesus and other Celestials received through Esq. Padgett be viewed as a Second New Testament, in much the same way that the New Testament was added on to the Hebrew scriptures, as a supplement and enhancer to the Bible.
This site will also be a place to check the validity of printed Padgett messages against the original autographs and transcriptions. Periodically, a new original autograph which has been preserved and scanned, along with Dr. Leslie Stone's original transcription, will appear on this website until all of Esq. Padgett's original autographs are preserved and digitally published.
